RICHMOND, Va.
– Boston College basketball coach Mike James will not seek a second term as head coach, the school announced on Thursday.
The university announced James was appointed interim head coach of the Eagles on Monday.
The decision comes amid a growing chorus of criticism from the basketball community, with multiple players and administrators calling for James to step down.
The Eagles have gone 0-5 since James was hired in November.
James is a former head coach at Notre Dame and played three seasons in the NBA.
He has a coaching record of 1,094-161 in seven seasons at Boston College.
