NBA Draft Pick: Houston Rockets take Jahlill OkaFORTH, Texas — Houston Rockets guard Jahlile Okaofu has been selected in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft, the team announced on Thursday.
Okaofeu (5-9, 190) was selected by the Houston Rockets with the 15th overall pick in the first round, which was held on Monday night.
The 6-foot-8, 225-pounder, who was originally selected by Houston in the seventh round, has made 25 starts at center this season.
The Rockets, who have been without a starting center since the departure of Oka for the Orlando Magic on Feb. 3, have lost six of their last eight games.
Odaofu will join the Rockets in the new season and be eligible to sign with them as an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
Ola is coming off a season-high 25 points (6-for-13 from the field) and eight rebounds on 10-of-16 shooting (8-for, 4-of.
3-pointers) against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.
He also added four assists, three steals and one block.
Otaofu is averaging 10.3 points and 5.6 assists in 20.2 minutes per game, while adding six rebounds and three assists in 15.4 minutes per contest.
