UConn Basketball has already clinched the Big East Tournament championship, and now it will have to defend its title against the defending champion Miami Heat in Miami Beach on Thursday night.UConn will play its first game against Miami in a week on Tuesday night, as the game will be played at the Alamodome.
The game will also mark the first time the teams have met since the Heat swept the Huskies in the 2013 Elite Eight.
The Heat, coached by Mike Krzyzewski and Pat Riley, won their third straight game.
Miami, coached and managed by James Johnson, has a 12-10 overall record and is in first place in the Big 12.
The Huskies will be coming off of their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1998 when they beat Georgetown.
UConn’s last win was a 99-94 victory over Iowa State on Jan. 9, 2019.UCLA, the reigning NCAA Champion, will be looking to finish its best season ever and return to the NCAA Tournament for the first and only time since 1988.
The Bruins will play a home-and-home series against Syracuse, as both teams will be playing in the second round of the NCAA tournaments.
UCLA will face Villanova in the first round on Friday.
The Bruins are also looking for their first conference championship since the 1999 Final Four, where the Bruins defeated the No. 5 seed Duke.
UCLA is in second place in Pac-12 North and will play in the South Regional.
