The NCAA is considering changing the rules for the 2015-16 season in order to prevent teams from losing to players who are in the program.
The rule change would prohibit players from wearing jerseys of their favorite teams and would make it harder for teams to trade players.
The NCAA announced last week that it will begin looking into the issue.
The issue has been in the headlines lately, with NCAA President Mark Emmert making headlines last week for saying that he would consider changing the rule if he had to.
The Associated Press reported last week the rule change was a priority for Emmerts administration.
It’s not clear how soon the NCAA would consider the proposal, though, because the NCAA is not yet a full member of the league.
