Warriors: Warriors’ Draymond Green ‘hopeful’ to play for Cavs

OHIO, Ohio – The Cleveland Cavaliers have decided to release forward Drayton Green, the team announced Monday.

Green, who averaged 9.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game this season, was the third player the Cavs released this week.

He was the only player the team released in the last two weeks.

Green was scheduled to make $2.5 million this season.

The Cavaliers waived guard/forward Anthony Tolliver on Friday, as well as guard James Ennis and guard Jarell Martin on Saturday.

The team announced that the Cavs have agreed to terms on a four-year, $55 million contract with Green.

Green spent his first six seasons with the Golden State Warriors before being traded to the Cavaliers in 2018.

He scored 12.6 points and 3.4 assists per game for the Cavaliers this season and led the NBA in rebounding at 12.9 per game.
