Texas A &m will be back in the ACC Tournament for the first time since 2004, when it made its debut.
The Longhorns will play host to Florida State on Friday, March 22 at 6 p.m.
ET, with the winner advancing to play Florida on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.n.m., according to an ACC Tournament roster.
“We’re very excited to be back for our first ACC tournament,” A&M head coach Kevin Stallings said in a statement.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to face one of the most talented teams in the nation, Florida State.
We’re looking forward to getting back on the court and showing our fans and our fans of the rest of the ACC how much we mean to them.”
In the regular season, Texas A has won eight of its last nine ACC games, while FSU has lost five of the last six.
The Aggies were seeded first in the field in the SEC Tournament before finishing fourth in the conference standings, while the Seminoles fell to No. 1 in the NCAA Tournament.
Texas A&ms second-year coach Kevin Sumlin will have to make the adjustment from being the only head coach in the league.
He had been the head coach at Kentucky from 2008-10 and took over at the helm in 2014, leading the Wildcats to a 19-9 record, a No. 2 seed in the College Basketball Invitational and a No, 5 seed in that year’s NCAA Tournament for a second straight year.
Sumlin was also a two-time national coach of the year candidate and an eight-time NCAA Tournament participant, including two appearances in the Final Four.
Texas will host the first ACC Championship in its 37-year history on Saturday.
The winner will advance to play the winner of Duke-North Carolina on Saturday in the first-ever meeting between the two programs in the national title game.
The Longhorns are 3-0 in ACC Tournament play.
They have won all seven games against top-ranked opponents, with a season-high eight wins coming by at least 20 points.
The last time Texas played a top-10 opponent in the regular-season was in 2017 when the Longhorns beat Georgia Tech by 28 points.
